This course will provide vital information and pragmatic steps for starting, developing, and marketing a successful consulting practice. The management consulting course is designed to help those students who wish to set up a consulting practice and for the student examining the potential for his or her professional consulting services in the marketplace. In this course, we will explore and discuss the need and role of management consultants, how consultants deliver services and interact with clients, managing the consulting process and consulting deliverables, staffing for consulting projects, and marketing consulting services. The course is also designed for those students that want to create or improve an internal consulting function within an organization. The course will help in project planning and development, managing and organizing a consulting practice, proposal delivery, and marketing a successful consulting practice with accompanying management, financial and business development issues and concerns. Students will learn the knowledge and experience in the organizational management consulting process, from initial client contact (entry) to termination of the consulting engagement and/or re-contracting for a new engagement while evaluating rewards and challenges of a consulting career.
